Pilot Samuel Gore said he lacked power to clear trees at the end of the Pine Mountain Lake Airport runway when his plane crashed on May 10. A 40-year-old Beechcraft that took off and crashed May 10 about 600 yards from the end of the runway at Pine Mountain Lake Airport had not been maintained, operated or flown in at least five years, and possibly 10 years or more, until pre-flight maintenance was conducted before it crashed, according to a preliminary report released Monday.
