Latest news on back door found in China made chips.
I predicted this years ago and now here we are. Who would have
expected them not to put in their own back door.
I could never understand why our government would do something
so stupid. Anyone and everyone is at risk now from reactors, airlines,
air-traffic control systems, computers, telco, trains, dams, missles,
just to name a few.

Fwd: President Obama is NOT backing down on GA User Fees
With budget debates now heating up in Washington, D.C., a back-and-forth battle
is taking shape that will have a huge impact on pilots like you and me and our freedom to fly.
It's a battle we can't afford to lose – but one we can't win without your help.
As I mentioned to you in a recent letter, President Obama proposed in his 2013 Fiscal Year budget a $100-per-flight user fee to be enforced on millions of general aviation operations.
Congress then responded – with nearly 200 U.S. Representatives and 28 U.S. Senators signing letters to the President opposing this fee. But the White House isn't backing down. And in a recent statement from the Office of Management and Budget, Acting Director Jeffery Zients made it 100% clear that President Obama and his administration are still 100% committed to imposing this disastrous fee.
Now, the future of general aviation is facing a decisive moment – because general aviation as we know it cannot and will not survive if President Obama wins this user fee battle.
Although the Obama budget is unclear about exactly which flights and airplanes will be subjected to these proposed fees, one thing is certain: Once these user fees are in place, they will only expand – to more flights and more airplanes until no one is exempted.
In every country where they've been imposed, user fees have all but wiped out general aviation. Now, it's up to you and me to make sure our freedom to fly isn't sacrificed during the upcoming horse-trading that will take place during the budget debates.
And the best way for you and me to build a firewall, and protect general aviation's future for ourselves and generations to come, is to make sure that our AOPA Political Action Committee coffers are 100% filled as the November elections draw near.
AOPA PAC is the only arm of AOPA that can give direct support to candidates running for Congress. And we're the only arm of AOPA that can urge citizens to vote for, or against, a particular candidate.
By making a contribution today, you can send a loud, clear message to our friends in Congress – those who are working on our behalf every day – that they'll be able to count on our strong support in November if they keep up the fight against user fees.
And you can make it clear that any Member of Congress who stands in favor of this user fee proposal will be on our target list for defeat.CONTRIBUTE NOW!
Make no mistake. If we fall short of our AOPA PAC funding goals this year, we're going to be sitting ducks for a legislative disaster that will change the face and future of general aviation forever, with no second chance and no turning back.
That's why there's no more powerful contribution you can make to protect our vital interests as pilots – and preserve the fair and equitable system of fuel taxes that now help fund a vast portion of our nation's air transportation network.
So please, if you haven't responded to my recent letter, do so today, and make a contribution in the most generous amount you can. In fact, even if you've sent a recent gift, I hope you'll consider an additional donation – to further strengthen AOPA PAC as we enter the most important stage of this election-year budget battle.
Your financial support for AOPA PAC right now is the key to winning the most important political fight we've ever faced. Please help – as soon as you can and as generously as you can – to defeat user fees that would destroy the healthiest and most robust general aviation system that the world has ever known.
THANK YOU for letting me hear from you soon!

New ADS-B Terminal Services Are Available Now
Attention Pilots New ADS-B Terminal Services Are Available Now Pilots who use the terminal airspace listed below can now receive free traffic and weather information in the cockpit. To receive these services, aircraft must be equipped with an Automatic Dependent Surveillance - Broadcast (ADS-B) transmitter/receiver or transceiver and a cockpit display of traffic information (CDTI).
The new services include:
Traffic Information Service - Broadcast (TIS-B), which enhances a pilot's visual acquisition of other traffic on 978 UAT and 1090 MHz Extended Squitter (1090 ES).
The following table lists which type of data link is required to receive TIS-B and FIS-B services:
The FAA encourages users of TIS-B and FIS-B to report any irregularities observed while using the services. Reports should contain the following information: When the service is not available, as result of a service volume network being out of service, the service condition will be NOTAMed as NOT AVBL. For more information about the FAA's ADS-B program, visit www.ads-b.gov. Contact the FAA Flight Standards ADS-B Office at 9-AWA-AVS-ADS-Programs-AFS@faa.gov. Safety Standdown Information
Safety Standdown A "Safety Standdown" is a pre-planned event where a company, organization, or group of people suspend normal operations for a given amount of time (a few hours, all day, etc.) to discuss safety issues. The idea is to bring the entire group together, including top management, to identify and remedy safety issues. The FAA Safety Team sponsors an annual Aviation Safety Standdown for pilots and mechanics in April of every year. In case you missed one of the meetings in your area, we have a Safety Standdown page at FAASafety.gov. We invite you to go to http://www.faasafety.gov/standdown/default.aspx and check out the resources there. There are links to the Advanced Preflight pamphlet, to the new Online course titled, "Avoiding Loss of Control," and to the four video presentations used at the individual meetings. There are also links to articles on this year's topics. You can also find this Safety Standdown page by going to the Home page at FAASafety.gov and looking at the Hot Topics portal. The Safety Standdown picture link will come into view in a few moments. Just click on it! New VFR Transponder Code for Gliders
New VFR Transponder Code for Gliders In a notice issued on March 7, 2012, the FAA will now offer transponder code 1202 for glider pilots to use when not in contact with ATC. The new code will help ATC differentiate gliders, which have unique flight and maneuvering limitations, from other VFR traffic. An accident, many incidents, and a National Transportation Safety Board recommendation highlight the need for a national beacon code for gliders that are operating VFR and not in contact with ATC. ATC personnel will be informed of the code, what it represents, and under what limitations the users are typically operating (e.g., unable to hold a requested altitude). Several codes considered in the past have conflicted with other operations. May all your experiences be uplifting! Fwd: "New FAA Safety Briefing Available"
FAA Safety Team | Safer Skies Through Education | |
New FAA Safety Briefing Available The May/June 2012 issue of FAA Safety Briefing focuses on extreme weather. Articles provide important tips on how to detect, prepare for, and avoid some of the more extreme varieties of weather conditions GA pilots may encounter in their region of the country, including thunderstorms, tornadoes, hurricanes, icing, fog, freezing rain and more. Hear from weather experts at the FAA who offer advice on how to be prepared for these situations and provide updates on the many helpful tools and resources now available to pilots. For more on how to improve your weather knowledge, check out the new issue at: http://1.usa.gov/IHfCA6. In addition, the issue's Nuts, Bolts, and Electrons department (pg. 27) looks at the newly released versions of the Aviation Maintenance Technician (AMT) Handbooks, and Vertically Speaking (pg. 29) reviews minimum safe altitudes and VFR weather minimum for rotorcraft operations.
